Seems to be alittle confusion as to what filters to use on 1650, 1655, 1855 tractors. There seems to be two filters that will work on these tractors......both wix numbers 51410 and 51702. The 51410 is a 20 micron and the 51702 is a 10 micron. According to what I've read on other posts the 51410 is to be used on sunstrand hydros and the 51702 to be used on eaton hydros? Does anybody know if this is correct for sure!? One guy says one thing then another guy comes along and says something else! I put a new 51702 filter on my 1655 along with a bottle of LUCAS tranny lube and topped off with dexron oil and now my tractor hydro is acting sluggish and weak!? Do i have the wrong filter installed?....Should I have used the wix filter 51410???

I've always used the 51410, sometimes referred to as the 1410, never heard of using a 51702, and I would be afraid it wouldn't allow sufficient flow, and that may be the problem

The Sundstrand filter on the suction side, so a tighter filter may reduce flow rate. Not sure on the Eaton, as I've never looked at their circuit paths, but I'm betting they filter on the return side. The hydro's can push a lot more than they can suction.

Both filters are rated at 7 to 9 gallons per minute flow rate.
