I just picked up my second massey--- it is an MF 7 that is in 'really rough shape'. the poor thing has what looks to be maybe a tiller motor(maybe 5 hp?)
it's serial no. is---1590003128, does anyone know what year it is?
(or tell me where i can look it up),
thanks,

I'm on the iPad or I'd do it for you, but there is a serial number list in the Massey manuals. There were gear and hydro 7's, just make sure you are looking at the right ones.

If it's the original engine, it's a 7hp Tecumseh.

Congrats on #2!

thanks,
that sounds about right, since
it is a 3 speed, and it has a 'mini chrome cover' where the ammeter should be.
I think a Chinese Honda clone motor will look nice....
by the way, which manual? has the serial nos./yrs.? another q.----when was first yeat of the MF 7?
thanks

I think the serial number by date sheet is in the brochures and misc section for Massey / Snapper in the GTtalk manuals section of the site.
