Looking for some info on my MF16s hydro control handle, problem is that it's too loose, doesn't hold position.

This is what it's suppose to look like

This is what I got, notice the top part has no liner on it, has some kind of bushing someone put in to add some friction.

What is that lining they put on the top part, AGCO parts books show it on the "Clamp assembly Shift lever brake"?

To me looks like a brake lining glued on.

Where do you get this?

How thick should it be?

What kind of glue do you use?

Your probably going to have to fabricate the material, maybe cub brake ling material, or a bake-o-lite type material. I believe is fairly easy to get. Your tractor has been the victim of a self-taught engineer, I'm so very sorry, It's probably going to get worse the more you look, again sorry. I have never seen one worn like that, it makes me cringe to think what the PO did to that poor machine. I'll loan you my shovel if you know where to find him, lol

Bump

Anybody know where to get this friction material of something that would work and how to attach it?

I was able to fix this by using the one top part I have with the liner on it, I bent it slightly near the end where the hole is to try to tighten the gap a bit and it worked.

Hydro control lever has resistance from full reverse to full forward.

Bent the top part just to the left of my finger.

Also ground away some of the liner at the extreme left where it is touching the bottom part stopping it from closing more.
