Hi I have a model 1400 bolens eliminator series with a 14hp tecumseh engine but I cant find the serial number of the tractor. There is a chrome sticker under the seat but I cant read any of it. Is there another place I can find the serial number, or year? Can anyone help?

That is the only place that it should be its a aluminum plate with the model and serial Id think it would be stamped also if you find the numbers here is a link to sonnys there is a section in Yellow with years and you can click on them it will give you information on the tractors http://sonnys_bolens.tripod.com/identifythis.htm Also i see that your new to the forum So Welcome To Gt-Talk

Welcome to the Forum!
Bolens printed earlier models on an Aluminum ID tag which was nice because it never wore away but they switched over to a vinyl decal that often faded like yours.

You can run the numbers on the engine to find the year if thats what you wanted to do.
We would love to see some pics if you get a chance!

Thanks for the help all of you and the welcoming. Mine has the sticker that is so faded I cant read it. I can read the tags on the rear end, motor and everything else, except the tractor. I will post some pictures, it is all origional and in quite good shape. I have the pto attachement and a single stage snow blower but not a mower deck. I plan on keeping it in good shape but using it as well. Any idea where I can get a mowing deck? I have the belt drive attachemnt as well but would prefer the PTO driven. Thanks again for the help.
