Sounds like some good seat time and looks like a job well done. Time for me to go out and fill the wood box, batten stuff down etc to get ready. Noel it looks like you have more snow and less ice than we do. You cannot shovel the snow here. You have to use a round headed dirt shovel or some other implement to break it up before you can shovel it. We really don't need no blizzard tomorrow. Actually it's starting tonight here and then going through the day tomorrow. Looks like the forecast is for 10-12" here with some ice pellets and the usual chance of freezing rain, blowing snow, yak, yak, yak,!! The usual mess! It's been so cold that the ice just doesn't melt. We were 11C below normal yesterday for the high and 7C below for the overnight low! This has been the pattern now for a month. Looks like no early spring here for us this year!

We are really getting nailed by this storm. I had to shovel the front steps this morning so the dogs could get out. It was drifted right to the top of the 5 steps. High winds and heavy snow with blizzard conditions. It looks like this has topped the snow up to the highest point it's been this winter, at least in some spots. It's supposed to continue into tonight although with decreased intensity late in the day. This may end up being the most snow we have had all winter from a single storm. I will get a few pictures later. No mild weather in sight for the coming week either. I sure hope it doesn't turn mild all at once because we will be in for a lot of flooding if it does. I just had my breakfast, put on a fire and am watching the fun out the window while I post this and enjoy a cup of tea!

Oh boy!
Just woke up.
Rain, no snow!

How'd you guys do?
The latest forecast says we may see some freezing rain and a few hours of ice pellets before it changes back to snow when the winds switch to northerly later today. I think there are 2 weather systems back to back causing this mess. Right now it's still snowing and blowing hard. We had to cancel church today. It's the second time this year and there were 2 other Sundays when it had snowed or was icy and we only got a handful of people.
