Hi
I have a 72 mf 12h That I picked up. It Has a plow and a 42" mower deck. It didn't however come with the front support plate. I have been keeping my eyes out for one on e-bay but have not come across one. I was wondering if someone could take some measurements of there's so I could reproduce one? Thanks for your help.

I have one I can take some measurements off, just so I make sure what you need, could you download this manual and verify this is the style deck you have? At some point, they made a few changes and I want to verify that you need info on part 8 (fig 1, page one) and every thing on page three, figure 9

I'm not sure what manual you are referring to but I downloaded a 610 manual. It looks to be the same. I can not make out the first number on the model sticker but the last 2 are 10. Its a 42" deck.

I downloaded a 610 manual earlier and it will not let me download anymore today. The manual I have it is page 3 part number 5 the front support plate. It hooks to the front bumper and two rods with clevis attach to brackets on the front of the deck. I can download the other manual tomorrow.

OK, I think I got enough to get you going anyways.
Took me an hour with the flash lite to find this yesterday... I knew I had it, but it seems I put it right where I would know where it was...

If it looks a little tweaked on the arms, it is. BTW the arms are 1/2" diameter. The cut nail is not OEM, but just to hold the spring loaded handle in the right position.

I have seen a couple reworked ones over the years that someone had removed the pins that go into the bumper and used bolts there because the handle was gone.

jpegram, welcome to the site! I'm a fan of the Massey Garden tractors, looks like you fixed that one up nicely. Tell us a little more about the repower? What clone was it, how did you handle the exhaust, were there any clearance issues, etc? Glad Alan got you fixed up with the measurements.

PS, that plow, is that a garden plow or a snow plow?

The plow is a mf 630 snow plow. I do have plans to build a sleeve hitch from the plans I found in this site and get a garden plow.

The clone is a preditor from harber frieght. I picked it up on sale for $300. I had to trim the original gas tank mounting surface and battery tray. However if you used the original gas tank instead of the one it came with that wouldn't be needed. You would however have to trim the gas tank mount on the engine block. I chose to use the new gas tank because I didn't like the void it left without the preditor gas tank.

The output shaft on the honda also sits a 1/4"higher. The only problem with this it's the belt will rub the for board. I just been it up a little.

The other problem is the output shaft on the hh120 is 1 1/8"and the honda clone is 1". I made a sleeve out of 1" copper pipe. 20130908_124259.jpg
I cut the about an inch (if I remember correctly) out of the width of the clones muffler to fit inside the grill of the Massey. Although I have plans to build a custom muffler. Or perhaps a stack. 20130908_124209.jpg
I also trimmed the plastic on the air filter box to clear the hood rod stop and the bolts that the grill mounts to the hinge.

I used the clones key switch because my original one was not functioning properly. I had to team out the mounting hole a little to make it fit.

Very nice, thank you for sharing that. If I remember, that predator must be blowing exhaust into the grill at the front. Plus the fresh air intake is right there. Is there any problem from the motor sucking on its own fumes? Look forward to seeing you build a sleeve hitch, it is a blast plowing with these 12s. One project I want to tackle when I have some time is to build a disk like I used on the farm I grew up on.

It does exit the front right about where the headlight would be. I have not had any issues with this yet. But I do plan on making a new exaust.
