I have a 1054 with a torn up transmission as well. It is a project machine that I will get around to when I get around to it, as I also have a good, running 1054. In addition to the shop manual Boyscout mentioned, there is another one that covers all of the different tube frame transmissions in detail. There is also a thread detailing the removal and replacement of the cluster gear, which is apparently a common failure in these transmissions. Not that they are a weak trans, but they need to be brought to a complete stop before changing gears. Shifting while they are still moving tears up the gears.
