Hello, guys. I wanted to share a recent Craigslist find. Yesterday, I brought home a FREE Bolens 15FC02 Versa-Matic two-wheeled tractor with a snow blade and moldboard plow. I haven't had a chance to check it out, but I was told that it ran when parked several years ago. it belonged to the guy's father and it was apparently taking up valuable space in his basement. The date code on the B&S motor is August 1954. This is my first Bolens of any kind and my first walk-behind tractor. I have a few Deere L&G tractors and a Gilson/Wizard lawn tractor.

Here are a couple of photos:

Very cool walker. I see it has the front attachment engaging lever. How about some photo's of that area, i seem to be missing parts of mine, and would like to use one of the front powered attachments sometime.

Free! ... Wow congratulations. I wonder how much snow one of those will move with that blade?

Thanks for the kind words. I'll try to get a few more photos taken and posted of the front attachment area tomorrow. I agree that free is the best four-letter word there is.

Lauber1, I'll get some photos of that lever tomorrow. I originally thought you were referring to the actual area that the front attachments connect to, which I guess is the snap-hitch. I took photos from all angles of that area, but not of the lever. Doh! Unfortunately, taking photos is all that I've been able to do with the Bolens so far. I did download the manual, which is very helpful. Thanks for the link, Bolens 1000. I was finishing up another project, which was to sandblast and repaint a Deere #80 cart. I am happy to report that is complete as of this evening. I had to rush to beat the onset of winter and the end of painting season.
