Cleaning my motor up ready to put the 1254 together and found out that the reason previous owner didn't have exhaust is because it's been cross threaded and stripped out on the 12d motor looks like he tried welding it but as everyone is suppose to know cast isn't easily welded so any advice on how I might fix this problem

Find a plumber or gas pipe fitter with a pipe threader kit. They'll know what to do.

I don't think there is enough meat there to go to 1-1/4" pipe thread. ......The o.d. of 1-1/4" pipe is approx 1-1/2", so some measurements are in order before ruining the block.

It can possibly be re-threaded with a 1" pipe tap enough to hold a pipe nipple.

Care must be taken because it is easy to break out a piece of the cast-iron block if too much force is used incorrectly!

Depending on what type of rod was used to weld it with you are either in luck or much much worse. If non-machinable or mild steel rod was used you might not be able to remove enough material so that you can re-thread it. It will be hard as carbide if any of the weld is left. If it was brazed or welded with nickle then you have the option of building up the inside of the hole, drilling it out and re-threading it it. The other option would be to weld a machined steel pipe fitting to the opening and screwing the muffler into that. Anyway you do it it is going to take some knowledge and work to repair it.
