Christmas morning we went for breakfast at the local restaurant. While there a lady asked if I was the guy with all the garden tractors, and wanted me to look at some she wanted to get rid of. She made me a good deal &. I brought them home today. A 1450 Cub Cadet, a red ,white and blue '76 model Cub Cadet, and a walk behind David Bradley . Plus some extra mower decks and odd pieces. They aren't real pretty but the 1450 runs good, & doesn't smoke. It has an issue with the lift that I'll have to figure out. The '76 model has seen better days and will require some TLC. The D.B. doesn't have an engine and will need to be sand blasted. I had to drive down a half-mile lane in the middle of empty corn fields and drag them out of a barn. They are now sitting in queue with the rest of my projects. Rick

1450 should be good rig, one of my favorites. Bradley, guess you have to be a collector of those to like. I never liked those 76'ers, just a cheap model with some decals, no real options. Work on the big one first!

Nice score. People working at Snack bar counters often put a couple bucks in the tip jar... they say money attracts money... wonder if i drove around with a gt on a trailer people would ask me to clean out their old stash...?...

I was chased a guy down that had 2 minibikes on a trailer. Bought them off him outside the local scrap yard.

Umm might have bought more from people outside the scrap yard than I made by hauling in junk.. Made $100 selling scrap and bought an engine and transmission from a guy at the gate for $150.... Hey it was a good running setup from someone I knew! Don't judge me! Hahahahaha

Very nice haul! That 76 is a Spirit of 76 celebrating the bicentennial... It is the rarest of all Cub Cadet models built to include the 169. They were built mid/late 1975 and 1976 and I think less than 3,000 were built. There is some collectors out there that would give their eye teeth to have one. You can get a reproduction decal kit from Maple Hunter Texas.

Those "Spirit of 76" models are very sought after and highly collectible as has already been said. IIRC Lawn and garden collector magazine featured one on the cover a while ago.
