Hi all-

Newbie here who has been in and out of tractor ownership for a number of years. I've mostly owned Deere in the past with a Wheelhorse and others but am finding myself drawn toward MF as of late. I've got a lead on a Model 12 with an implement or two and I'm wondering if the good folks here can give me any sure tell signs to look for on these? Any insight is always helpful. Any ways thanks for any insight provided in advance!

I too like the looks of the MF garden tractors, although I do not have any!

All I can tell you is that i really like the job my MF12G does mowing and pushing snow. I did re-power it with a modern engine.

I'm suspecting a little bit of both. I have a need for a unit to do driveway duty in the winter and lawn maintenance the rest of the year. May end up being a two step resto.

I can't help on the implements but for sure check the bezel around the headlight area and then on the backside where the cross piece of sheet metal is. My experience in the two 10s and one 12 that I have that they have a tendency to crack in that area where it meets up with the hood and unless you are good at welding, I am not sure how to fix it. Other than that, basic mechanical stuff.

I use mine all the time for roller duty, pulling the sprayer and plowing snow and they work good for all these tasks. Plus you can't beat the big tractor look of that vintage Massey!
