Hello, no it's a factory unit. The actuating valve and cylinder are together and act as one unit. Where you see the hydraulic hoses going into it , that is the valve it is connected to the steering gear via a drag link (adjustable bar) when you turn the wheel in one direction it strokes the valve letting the fluid flow into the cylinder and allowing it to function turn the wheel opposite direction allows the same function either pulling or pushing the steering arm ,it more or less assists the steering function, but makes a very noticeable difference in the ease of turning the tractor. I like how they look ,hanging there doing their thing ,old school coolIs that power steering original or something home build? How exactly does it work?
