I found this blower that I think I could make fit onto a DGT1700. Has anyone here ever converted a Bercomac or Rad blower to fit a DGT or 1800,1900,2000 series tractor? I'm not clear on the upper pulley. Would I just need to convert the upper pulley to a stub shaft where the universal drive shaft would go? Eliminate all the lower pulley system? Then would need to find an original DGT or 1800,1900,2000 series frame to mount it on. Thank you for any thoughts on this.

Hope someone can offer you some advice!

I have always found it strange that with so many Eliminator and Dura tracs you see still out there , its a challenge to find anything other than a deck for them!

You would think the tillers and blowers would be more plentiful .

I think the 2 stage blowers were too expensive so you don't see a lot of them But in my research it appears that they used Rad and Bercomac as a base blower.

Husky I agree the attachments were so pricey, but that diesel tractor is very nice, very smooth running
They do seem to be a really solid machine with the cast iron front axle and pto. Hopefully it will be a good as the large frame tractor. I like the fact that the blower is shaft drive instead of belts like the Eliminators are.

Ed,
Do you have this blower in hand?
Or, is it something your thinking of purchasing?
I see a couple for sale locally.
Regards the pulley system;
It does two things.
1, transfers power from the engine to the blower.
2, reduces speed for the blower.

For belts to transfer power they need so much engagement with the pulley.
Usually 50% of the circumfance is best.
That's probably why the large pulley is on the top.
The sprocket behind it may be the same size or it may be smaller to act as gear reduction.
Two other considerations would be the rotation of the machine vs blower.
And, the stall speed of the unit. Flywheels and rotating mass will help with stalling if the hp weren't available
But I don't think that would be a problem.
Of course the mechanical hook up would need to be worked out.
I think it's quite do-able.

Hi Joe,

I don't have a blower yet, just doing my research on it. The rotation would be correct for the one that I posted. From what I have read a lot of guys have swapped them from belt to gear and chain to work on the Bolens tractors. I appreciate your information on the subject thank you.
