This is probably a very silly question BUT one I can't seem to find an answer to. Every mower I've had up to this point has a removable hood. However, my 2000 model LT166 doesn't seem to have an easy way to remove the hood without removing bolts. Can someone help me with this? I need to diagnose an issue with the throttle cable being stuck (always on full throttle) and having the hood out of my way to access the front of the engine would be dramatically easier.

I've worked on both a 133 and 155, the hinge bolts are internal from what I remember, you have to take all 4 bolts off to remove hood.

I worked on a GT242 and it was same way. I had to repair it, ended up running a bolt with nut on the back through the hinge as it was busted. Maybe you can take apart and some how slot the plastic then use a bolt/nut to make just a pin hinge?

Welcome to the forum. There are 4 bolts holding the hood on. 2 on the sides of the frame and 2 that are under the top of the frame on each side. Hope this helps
