I voted restore also, but I have no issues with modifying her either. It's not like I haven't modified anything! LOL

Doug, It's a very nice little Massey, it looks to me like a very easy resto..

BTW, I voted resto, LOL

I agree with the consensus so far. If the engine/tranny are okay, restore. What kind of shape is the deck in? That is a pretty straight little tractor. Wouldn't take much to make it pretty.

I vote to restore as well. The deck looks good from what I can see and these make a fine mower for tight spots.

I hesitantly voted restore. I say hesitantly because it's yours and you should do what YOU want with it. That being said, you did post the poll and restore would be my opinion as it's in really nice, straight, original condition. Most of all, enjoy whatever you decide to do!

I started this thread to get your opinions on this tractor and what would be the best thing to do with it, (in your opinion).
Myself I think it is one to restore because of it's condition. It's not really a garden tractor, i say it's a lawn tractor and IMO the more desirable model of the MF7s, 8s.
Thanks for the info, I'm going keep this one as it is, unmodified, and I'm back to where I was on the Massey 8 modified project before this one came along.

boy you must really like Massey 8s that's the 2nd time you tried to take it off my hands:smile1::smile1::smile1:
Yeah, I had one until this spring. (MF8H)
It was my first MF, which I got 3 years ago. It had been repowered with a honda.
Worked/ran good, but whoever repowered it, really butchered it up beyond the point
of doing a resto. I gave it to one of employees, who had just bought his first house.
Now he's hooked.:smile1:
I have a good MF8G, but I still want to find myself a hydro.
Glad to hear you're going to keep it as is. If you here of another one, shout.
Will

I say restore, mainly because it's a hydro. Now the gear driven one, I would be more in tune to mod it if you want to do so. But the hydro's are just not that common and should be keep stock.

Well I guess it's pretty obvious what I should do with this one, 100% for restore.
Thanks for your input guys.

It's only 100% if that's what YOU want to do! It's truly not for us to decide for you, but we did give you our opinions as you asked us to.
