I have a couple different types of db drive wheels for the reverser. Type #1 uses what appears to be a fiberglass rim that is riveted to its pulley and rides against the drive belt. Type #2 has an all steel cast construction- rim and pulley. Is one type better than the other? Thanks.

I think there accurately one more with a rubber edged wheel. They all work about the same, and beat having to pull the tractor back .

I was told the fiber was the older design, but have seen it on the 597 and 599 machines. I also put one on my 562.

That is consistent with my parts sources. The fiberglass drive wheel is from a 1-piece frame db. The steel wheel/pulley is off my 1957 db.

The rivets on the fiberglass are loose. Typical? I figured on bucking them to tightened it up. Thanks.

BTW: How did I get by without a reverser? IMHO it is well worth the effort to get and install. No more muscling the Big 5 backwards
