I'm curious what a stock ride a matic is rated to pull or what you have pulled with it?

I don't want to "pull" but want to know the limits as I'm moving and pulling loads around the yard. Someone once told me to try and if it moves it will pull lol.

Bolens never rated their tractors for an amount they could pull.

If something is on wheels and rolls freely, your tractor could probably pull it.

But, then we have to ask, uphill? ....downhill? ... or on flat surface?

I agree with the advice you were given.

I'm sure it will pull anything on flat, my 800 can pull a 3000lbs trailer all over my property in high gear (it's mostly flat).

My limit is usually traction, tongue weight or braking.

I wouldn't attempt to pull that trailer downhill on grass.

I've towed a small car with my 800... but i built a heavy duty hitch for mine, Don't know how strong the hitch built into the gearbox casting is & wouldn't want to damage it.

I pull a 300 lb trailer with 500 lbs in it all the time. It doesnt know its there. Hills are the problem. I almost wrecked pulling a water tank up my neighbors steep hill to water his apple trees. The tractor could drive up a wall. Especially if you move the chain to the 2 lower gears. But lose traction and start sliding backwards with a trailer, you could get really hurt or worse......bust up your bolens RAM. picture any hill you climb with that trailer and picture your chain breaking. What would you do?
