I was giving an Ariens 5hp techcasuma snoblower an for some reason i cant get it to stay running. It runs strong for 5min then thats it try it a day later an the same thing. Ive cleaned the carb twice an ideas on what it could be??

Try installing a clear fuel line to see if it is doing this:

Plugged gas cap. The gas tank has to have a vent to allow air in, to let the fuel to run to the carb. Hope this helps, Noel.

Does it have spark when it quits? May be the electronic ignition unit breaking down.

that thing looks old enough to still have points under the flywheel. (not a bad thing) Probably a bad coil or condenser. Give it a good tune up.

Its has fuel going to the carb after it stops i checked the fuel bowl drain. I never thought about the points how hard are they get at?

ok thanks hopefully ill get into it tonight it needs to run right since im fixing it for a friends mom i traded the blower for an other cub cadet
