Im new to this site hope im posting on right place. I recently baught a s24 it did not run. I have gotten it to run but cant seem to figure out the charging system. Iv searched the internet but not found much info. I think some parts are missing the starter generator works fine but no regulator or anything like that are there. Its a 10hp briggs model 243434 any pics or info would be greatly appriciated.thanks????

Always great to see another Speedex rescued.

So you've probably learned parts and service information for Speedex tractors are pretty much nonexistent. The good news though is they were pretty much built with commodity type parts so with a little leg work you can chase down what you need. In this case your charging system came from Briggs so you should be able to find any necessary parts.

My only experience with a starter generator was on my dad's old Cub Cadet 35+ years ago and other than replacing the belt once it just always worked. It did have a voltage regulator though.

There are enough other tractors around with that starter/generator set up someone here will be able to guide you through. Just sit tight.....

Thanks for the replies i think iv figured out what part # i need now next question is does anybody know where or how the regulator is mounted?

It's part number 107 which is in the box at the lower left corner of the diagram:

Unfortunately the image doesn't show where on the tractor it goes. It does seem to mount to that angle bracket #108. Perhaps there is something like that on your tractor just begging for a regulator?

The parts list shows the wires (#111) as 8" long, so presumably it's within that distance of the starter/generator. The location I got the document from is HERE

Functionally it doesn't matter where you mount it. It just matters that it's wired properly.

Yes that looks right thats exactly what i needed thank you so much for your help iv been looking everywhere looks like pretty easy to make the brackets looks like iv got a sunday project now thanks again????
