Signs Of Good Weather!

Today I have been swatting at bugs repeatedly, bushes are starting to bud, grass is turning a little greener, in the woods the weeds are starting to sprout, and I got stung by a bee earlier.

Another thing that is not good weather, but is nice to hear is thunder! Ever hear of a thunder storm in the cold? Maybe, I have not... but they happen when it is warm out mostly!

Anybody else have good signs? Maybe those of you with snow still only have 3 inches left?

Been cold and snowy here all day. Last two days have been rainy and cold. Sure hope spring gets here before fall!

The last two snowfalls here have had thunder and lightning with it. Referred to as thunder snow around here.

Yesterday got 5 to 6 inches of more snow. Tonights low should be in low teens.

But the good side, NO mosquitoes.

It was warm and muggy in CT today. We get thunder snow occasionally. This past winter we had it several times.

Never heard thunder snow? Happens around here, quite often. 63* yesterday with rain.(third day straight) Today, balmy 32-39* with spits of snow, mixed with sprinkles; 20+ mph wind, <28* wind chill. Nice to see spring is here!

It was really mild here yesterday as well Ryan. Weeds and grass are starting to sprout and the snow banks are pretty much gone. It's time to get outside and start cleaning up.

Well, it's not here yet. Yesterday, after the rain stopped, the temp dropped.

Right now it's -2*c and snowing. Big NW wind too. They're calling for -10*c tonight.

Snowing hard right now.. wind is blowing hard.. cool temps are rolling in also,.. Sounds like it came from you Sherwood.

I forgot! I found a tick on me about a week ago! I hate ticks as much as anybody, but I saw it as a sign of good weather!

Thunder snow is especially common in late winter early spring when the temps can cause precipitation to fall in all forms at once.
Yesterday it was too wet to do anything in the garden, but I noticed gnats on the compost pile.

I am especially glad to see the Spring birds back at my feeders. We noticed this past Winter that feeder activity was down 90% over previous years. The birds seem to be suffering from a downturn from several diseases lately as I noticed last year a very low number of robins seen and heard around the neighborhood...
