I just purchased a simplicity 5212. It started and ran well when I first brought it home. Now I have no spark at the plug. There are several safety switches on it two that have been bypassed. The seat switch and the neutral switch. Now I'm not sure if the lack spark is from the safety switch fault or an engine fault. I would like to wire the tractor to its simplest form. "Start engine turn off engine. Charge battery." you don't need to tell me this is not safe I understand that.
Next to the starter solenoid there's a small round electrical device that all the safety wires run into. Does anyone know what that's for? How can I test to see if there is a problem between the safety switches and the engine.
