Well as everyone has probably read I moved to a house that I can call my own. The previous owner hadn't quite mowed the yard at all this year, so it had a month or so of growth, which was about 12 inches of grass. Then, the spring dry spell broke with plenty of rain, and with that much grass it doesn't dry out to quick.

So, I had never mowed with the tractor at all, and these were about the worst conditions to test out a prototype in. But, to keep the neighbors from thinking some white trash had bought the house I figured I had better get a deck under the MF10 Diesel and get er mowed. I put on a new set of blades and a new drive belt and fired it up.

The neighbors stared in awe at what happened next. With a sound like a Peterbilt the 10 crawled out into the front yard, I dropped the PTO, gave it 1/4 fuel and ventured out into the yard the grass was getting deeper and the governor was fueling up. Pretty soon the coal started rolling out the stack and the neighbors were starting to look. Smoke was visible for a block about 20 feet in the air! It was a hard first run but there were no problems other than the deck belt slipping once. I don't think the neighbors have a grasp on what they saw and heard. It hammered like a freight train! Wish there was video!

I learned these things from the test run:

1)The deck drive belt is a 51" currently, maybe it's supposed to be 50", the adjustment was set in the worn belt position.

2)It needs a soda can sized turbo, GM air pump, or VW air pump (supercharger) to burn the excess fuel and make it into torque. Yes, I actually engineered the swap to accomodate it. The blower would be hot for low end torque.

3)I predict a total eclipse when I drop the plow into the garden in a few days!

4)I am sick and can't stop hot rodding stuff

5)I need a pyrometer

It sounds like your project is working out well! Congrats on your engineering! The neighbors are just jealous that they don't have a tractor like yours!

:ditto::ditto: On the video! Being I have 3 diesels, I don't have to be jealous, but I would LOVE to see video of yours! How bout letting the place grow up again, then doing video?:bigrofl:
Wish you could do that, but we'll be happy with a normal cut height video too!

Their not jealous, they just have NO idea what your driving, wait till you blow it, haha, you are sick, like me. My buddy got a craftsman GT and noted how quite it was and wanted to know how he could make his Massey that quite, I haven't spoken to him since.
