I have a similar problem with my Snapper 1600. The manual lift only lifts the snow plow blade about 2 to 3 inches. It appears to be a design problem because others have had the same complaint. The other possibility is that we all have something attached wrong. Good Luck, Rick

Could be a number of things. But if the cylinder holds the position once up as far as it will go, then it's not the cylinder.

Could be low oil, worn charge pump, pressure relief valve worn or in need of shimming to increase pressure. The sqwalking/squealing sounds like the relief valve is bypassing the pressure.

But first look to see if the cylinder is extending fully. If it is, then you should hear squealing and you need to look more at brackets/hangers being worn or bent causing the partial lift.

Lifted it up last night and left it Still up this morning and seemed to work better for some odd reason Anyhow I went and purchased two new assist springs at Ace hardware for $14 and it picks it up a good 5 inches easily now Im guessing the springs were wore out I think I will still take it to the massey mechanic and have him look it over sometime
