Does anyone know how to get a new front pulley put on the pto splined shaft on the snapper 1855a It came off hard and the new one isn't going to just slide on Any suggestions from anyone who has tackled this before would be great

The only fix I can think of would be to get one of the splined couplers from surplus center and have it fitted into a new pulley.

Use a small diameter wire wheel on a 4.5" angle grinder to clean the splines. They tend to collect a bit of corrossion if not used for extensive periods of time.

Misread the post, though you needed a new pulley. Clean the shaft splines and see if there is paint in the pulley splines. Make sure you did not mushroom the shaft when you pulled the old one off. You might need to bevel the shaft end with a file.
