On my old '65 Chevy, I gaped everything with a matchbook cover. The paper cover is .018 for the points; fold it in half for the plugs.

I checked the recommended gape for my old Chevy. I would set it at .035-.036. The book says 1mm. This converts to .039.

Remember folks, if you play around with the point gap, it affects your timing.
