I need an idea for a spreader on my Snapper 1600A (has rear manual lift and live PTO). Maybe there were original accessories but I don't expect to find one. I am thinking of a retrofit. Any ideas for PTO driven? I am also considering ground driven. Any Massey guys have ideas??? My plan is to use it for spreading sand in the winter (for grip during my Christmas Tree selling season) and fertilizer/lime in the spring on the garden.

I am going to look at options at TSC tonight but was hoping someone has some input on what they have.

Farmgineer,
Sounds like a cool project...
I saw a spreader hooked up with an electric motor for the rotation that utilized a 3pt hitch...it was really neat. Handy also, because it was mounted on the 3pt there was no issues with backing up.

:ditto:
And with the electric motor, you'd have better on/off control vs. the PTO.

That is a good idea, I hadn't thought of an electric motor as a drive option. I will keep that in mind for my search.
