Yup, but not a tractor; although the correct color. A 1986 KTM MXC500 open classer 2 stroke; the answer when a CR500 no longer cuts it.

I had been looking for one of these bikes in particular for a while and finally came across the right one a couple of months ago and just had it shipped up from California. The bike had been previously stored away for 25 years due the original owner who went MIA. It is not pristine by any means but has seen very little use. It is absolutely ballistic to ride in every sense of the term... that is if you can get it started first. Thought I'd do a group shot of my other "great whites."

Well is clean! Gonna stay that way? I like the Duke better, but not sure what that is. Not a Monster? I'm too old to ride such rigs anymore, thinking more like a Trike even now days. Bought a Sportster last summer, not sure I like it and hadn't ridden in 25yrs. SO, maybe I should just quit the bike idea, huh?

I agree totally. To old to rider anything with 2 wheel any more. The 3 wheelers are out of sight $$ wise. Those dirt bike are widow makers and never had much fancy for them. Rode a lot of mile on a touring bike but that was 30 years ago or more. To each his own.

I plan to keep it pretty clean but it will be used for occasional trail riding in dry climates.

The Ducati is a Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP.

If you don't ride very often but like to go out every once in a while for a few hours, a Sportster is a great bike for that.

You said it. The big 500cc 2 stroke open class bikes are definitely widow makers.

Starting it is a job in itself. The kicker is on the left side which makes it even more awkward. Yup, the bike wants to fly out from underneath you.

I've always wanted to get on a 500 2stroke.

It's an experience you'll never forget. Be sure to have lots of open space to ride when you do.
