I would say your offer is more realistic than what the guy is asking for the tractor. What I have done in the past is left a business card with the seller with my offer wrote on the back. It doesn't always work but towards fall if the tractor doesn't sell you may be get a call. I have done that with probably 8 tractors and got a call later on 3 of them that they would take my offer.
