That's a cool find!
Soon as I saw the three point, I had to grab it.That's a cool find!
Speedex's kinda rare in my area. This is the first one I've seen. Anyone got any info on this one.I mean, I wouldn't have passed that up for free even though I've never seen one of those before.

Thanks for the links Eric. Will check on it tomorrowEaton 11? Alot of old garden tractors used that pump but some rotated Counter Clockwise and some Clockwise. I have heard that you can just swap over the front charge pump and make either one work but I can not confirm it.
I would keep an eye out for an old Hydro Gilson/Montgomery Wards tractor. They use the exact same transmission and pump in them and they made quite of few of them. A few of them always pop up forsale on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist fairly cheap. Don't be afraid to get one with a damaged input shaft since you have parts that you can use. To bad that the pump looks like it was taken apart and left outside. It could possibly be cleaned up and rebuilt if it doesn't have any rust pitting but I wouldn't take a chance on it.
This would be a good parts tractor for your Speedex. He says he has the engine for it as well but this one had an Opposed twin Briggs in it. $150obo Log into Facebook
Here is 1 being parted out. He wants $100 for the transmission.
I bet if you ask him he would probably sell you the pump and ship it. Here is his web site with his contact info. www.davestractors.netLog into Facebook

Thanks MiCarl, I'll be checking them out also.Speedex tractors were made in Ravenna Ohio with a short run in Armstrong county PA shortly before the business vanished for good. The dealer network seems to have been primarily local so they're most concentrated in northeast Ohio and western PA.
You won't find new parts other than for components (engines, transmissions) that they bought rather than made. There is a moderately active facebook group with a couple guys that deal in used parts. Speedex Tractors | Facebook
Ravenna Speedex ran from 1938-1994 and the 1st 4 wheel tractor came out in 1939 with the Model B which was the 1st 4 wheeled Garden Tractor produced in the USA.Speedex tractors were made in Ravenna Ohio with a short run in Armstrong county PA shortly before the business vanished for good.
