Speedex tractors were made in Ravenna Ohio with a short run in Armstrong county PA shortly before the business vanished for good. The dealer network seems to have been primarily local so they're most concentrated in northeast Ohio and western PA.

You won't find new parts other than for components (engines, transmissions) that they bought rather than made. There is a moderately active facebook group with a couple guys that deal in used parts. Speedex Tractors | Facebook
.
Have joined the FB/ Group. Thanks MiCarl.

Alot of the Gilson tractors do use the same CCW Eaton 1100 pumps. Did your pump use shim gaskets or just an O-Ring? If I remember correctly the Gilson tractors used Shim gaskets.

Brian AKA Bolens1000 is an Admin and site sponsor here. He sells some of the seals for those pumps on his Web site and Ebay.
Here is his web site https://bolenspartsandsupplies.com/
And Ebay page Security Measure

He might have more seals if you send him a PM. Bolens 1000

Thanks again Eric, I'll look into that also. I have found a guy not far from me that runs a tractor grave yard. Says he has about 15 Gilson tractors out there. Will be going there tomorrow.

Not sure on the shim or seal,as pump was already removed from the tractor when I got it. I'll have to look through the box of parts I got. I think it's an o ring. Yep it's an o ring.

Nice. The ones with the shim gaskets like to leak and it's a bit of a pain in the butt to shim them correctly. If you can get the Gilson pump cheap enough I would use your pump housing. I'm pretty sure that all of the Gilson pumps used Shim Gaskets so the housing will not have previsions for an O-Ring. Other than that it should bolt rite up.

Running outa options for another pump for this old girl. No one around here has even heard of Speedex tractors, much less seen one. Can't find anyone to rebuild the original pump. So I'm at appoint I'd let her go to a home that can do something with it. Hate to scrap it, or just sit on it. I really don't have the space to keep a nonrunner. So if someone wants to make the trip to Maine I'd trade her for a running CH18, or even a long block. Thanks for all the replies with ideas.

So I'm not one for doing hack jobs. And I don't claim to be a saint, but an idea has crept into my mind. And it just may be a sin. What if I marry another complete transaxle and pump from a let's say from a Cub Cadet 1862 into the 1622. I would then be able to run the three point plus add power steering. Any thoughts on that. At least I'd be able to keep the 1622 alive. If it's doable, can the ole Briggs one lunger handle it.

Not a bad idea.

I spent all day yesterday on the phone with small engine shops from all over Ohio looking for any leads on parts for this tractor. And I mean all day. I'm down to one more place I have to call on Tuesday, called Adam's Small Engine, mower recyclers in Greenwich Ohio. They have over a 1000 part's tractors. If no luck there seriously looking at the 1862 idea. I think the biggest hurdle, would be setting up the 1862 hydro to foot control.

Well Adams Small Engines has nothing. Going to look at a non running Bolens today. Craigslist ad says it has an Eaton hydro. Just for frame and transaxle $100.00. Also found a 1862 no hood or side panels no deck with a seized M18 for $80.00.

Po "said" was running year and half ago. Still turns over. Supposedly the seals in the pump started to leak. He attempted to repair but lost time and interest.

will have to wait till Friday or Saturday to look at the Bolens, 86 miles one way. It's been stored under a lean to for 2 years. It an Eliminator 1700. Owner says come get it for $50.00. Passing on the 1862, that's been sitting outside uncovered for the last 5 years.

Got to looking over the 1622 some more Friday. Where the pumps been off the tractor for so long, things not looking good in trans axle. About an inch of water in the bottom end. Drained it out, mostly rust colored goo running out. The Gilson I went to look at, It's a varidrive not a hydro. Laying this thread to rest.

Sorry to hear that. Some tractors are just ment to be parts tractors when you can't fix it anymore.

The Bolens I also looked at could not see much of it. It was stored under a lean to off an old barn, the roof of the lean to caved in covering the tractor.
