Front mounted Chipper/Shredder for the Bolens tube frames.

What would be a fair $$ for one in excellent condition?

I have a line on one and have made an offer. I'm just wondering if my offer was in the ballpark, too low, or too high.

It's in "mount it and use it" condition and has no missing parts.

You used the term "Chipper/Shredder."

Amerind-Mackissic made the 9P series of shredder/grinders, which could handle branches up to 1-1/2". ....Some people called these chippers, but they were not really chippers.

Amerind-Mackissic also made the 12P series, which were chipper/shredders. ......These had a top hopper for "green" materials and branches up to 1-1/2", and a side hopper for the chipper, which could handle up to 3-1/2" branches.

I know the 9P style was available as an attchment for the Bolens tube-frames, but I do not know if the 12P (which came later) was available as a tractor-mounted attachment.

The model 12P's are more desirable than the 9P. ....The value of a 12P would be more than a 9P.

Looks like I'm an OWNER :dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

Fella just called me, and asked if I was still serious about buying the chipper.

Told him I was as serious as a heart attack :D

We have settled at $400.00 which both of us seem quite happy about.

He's in South Bend IN, but is coming over to Louisville, OH, which is only about 1 1/2 hours from Oberlin for the Thanksgiving Holiday, and will be bring it with him. That will make for a much shorter trip for me to pick it up.

According to a 9/15/71 price sheet, the model T-B Amerind-Mackissic Shredder-Grinder for the Bolens tube-frames had a list price of $208.oo. ....Dealer cost was $156.00. ....These prices from the Bolens distributor in Chester, PA.

So, according to those prices, you paid too much !! :mad2:

However, according to today's prices, as seen here:

MacKissic Inc.

You did quite well !! :smile1:

If you are both happy, as you said, then the price was right !! :D

Enjoy your lastest addition to your growing collection !:bounce:

Picked it up today.

And like always, it rained on me all the way there and back :D

It looks real good. Pretty much as the seller described it. A bit of surface rust as to be expected, since it's in original, unrestored condition.

One 'bonus' was an actual, genuine, Bolens split cotter pin for the U-Joint! It's not bent, bruised or other wise traumatized :D:D:D

Here's a pic. I know some asked what the dimensions were. I'll post the pic in my "Cotter Pin" thread as well. No pics of the chipper since it's raining, as as dark as the inside of a cow outside.
