Ok, I've been pondering making a sleeve hitch for my G12, I found some plans but I have questions. First, the pictures showing it attached, the axle has 2 clevises on either side that the hitch goes between, mine only has one per side.
Should the hitch be made to straddle the single for stability?
Why is there two holes at the end that attaches to the tractor?
The reason I ask about the mounting holes is, I have 1/2"x2" flatstock on hand, so I'd like to know how much and why to move them with the larger material.
I look foward to to the flood of info on this one since I may be the only one without a hitch. :rofl2:

The reason you see two tabs on the axle instead of one is because thats a newer Hydro Bolens. Later on in years Bolens used double hitch tabs on the Hydro Axle. To the best of my memory, the sleeve hitch should ride on the outside of the axle tab.

I believe those are for depth adjustment

Typo-Correction... the stock I have is 1/2"x3" so it's 1/2" wider than it calls for. Thats why I'm wandering if that will cause any interfearance, I can mill it down in those spots.

Thanks DR. Bolens, I suspected an angle adjustment, but figured meby it was more for acomodating differant models. So it's more likely that distance between the holes is more important than distance from outside edge to each hole.
