I fabed up a two bottom plow a few years back, and it does a great job pulled by a Wheel Horse 315-8. I have seen the you tube clips of plow days and just never see anyone pulling more than just one. Why wouldn't this be more popular?
Depends on the ground, you might go to a plow day and if the ground sucks you'll never pull a two bottom. I've seen a few guys show up to plow days with them but after they get embarrassed because they keep getting stuck they always switch out to a one bottom. I have a couple tractors I feel confident could pull a two bottom and I plan to build one someday if I ever have the time and money at the same time.
I doubt any normal garden tractor would be able to pull a two sod plow here in PEI where I live. I have enough trouble pulling one plow. I have seen you tube videos of a two sod plow on a garden tractor , and always thought to my self, ya wouldn't be pullin that here in this ground. Just my opinion.
Nice Allis set up. Glad to know I am not the only two bottom plow around. Diffidently understand the issues with hard ground. If I don't plow in spring, it is harder for me to get the rows started deep.
