I've had my 850 parked in the garage for a few days, drove it in just fine. Checked my oil, gased it and fired it up. Let it idle for 3 or so minutes, get on it. release the brake and shift into reverse. Let off the clutch and it barely moves. Mind you I'm in Low, but, this thing would jerk a little and move much faster than it is now.

I checked the belts and put it in 1st and it moved just fine.

What should I be looking for here?

Clutch does engage and drive shaft turns while in neutral. Now the first of bad news. When the shaft turns there is wobble at the seal of the transmission. I think the needle bearing is shot or the shaft has become worn. I'm in the process of opening the trans but I have a stubborn screw behind the lift lever not wanting to come out from the Rear Panel/Transmission Cover.

Is the trans input shaft wobbling, or is it the coupling on the input shaft?

Sometimes the flanged coupling would wear and slip on the trans input shaft.

It's not the coupling. With the tractor not running I can move the shaft up and down a little and you can see it as it enters the trans. Most likely the bearing. Still had problems with removing the bolt to remove the trans cover so I moved on to mounting a Wisconsin TRA-12D into my 1053 since the TRA10-D proved not workable back in latter Spring. Will have a tractor up by the end of the day.

You do know your going to have to rewire the tractor to adapt the 12D right? The TRA12D has electronic ignition not points like the TRA10D .......
Yeah. Looking over the schematics of a 1254 that the motor came out of.
