I traded for this old valve grinding machine the other day. Has anyone here used a machine similar to this one or own something like it? I'd never seen one before this one and decided to get it since it was interesting. Is it worth hanging onto? I don't see myself ever needing many valves ground or even have a clue how to grind a valve.

I Loved running it years ago i do know it's missing the other half of the kit (seat grinding setup)

Might be interested if the price is right, have to locate some parts to make it complete.

They really are OK for the older, larger engines

No idea if it would scale down far enough to work with our valve sizes.

Smallest valves i ever did on one was an old General GG or a Continental 124

Used on everyday for 7 years at caterpillar building cylinder heads. They work good

Gave one of them away a few years ago was in bad shape but kept the seat grinder very handy tool when needed

WOW. Used that same model back in the early 70s when I worked for a GM/Buick dealership. That was when we still fixed warranty stuff in house compared to replacing parts today. Had the seat grinder too. Fix a lot for heads with the old girl.

I bought a valve grinder for $100, and the seller threw in a valve seat grinder with many stones and pilots.

There are bargains out there, but the kit in the link sure is pricey!

I'd have to dig it out of storage. Looks just like the Black&Decker one that I use most of the time
