Kind of a spin off from the what did you do with your tractor today thread. I was cooking dinner tonight and I thought it would be kind of cool to start this thread and see what everyone else has for dinner on different days and it might give some ideas for different dinners.

Tonight we are having chipped beef gravy over potatoes.

Hey, that chipped beef sounds good! I haven't had that for a long time. My mom used to make that when I was a kid.
It was pizza night here. Might try making some ice cream a little later.

We had Hamburgers here tonight. It was finally "Warm" enough to use the gas grill LOL
I can't wait to fire up the grill again. I think we need to replace ours though because every time you turn around the dang thing is on fire LOL

Yeah, I know what you mean. I just replaced the burner on mine a year ago, the old one rusted out and it was shooting some pretty big flames LOL

The problem with ours isn't the burner. You can clean the grease out of the bottom each time you use the grill but it never fails the grease will build up enough that all of a sudden the whole grill catches on fire. The first time it did it was at the old house and the wife had the lid shut and was inside only to come out and see flames about 4' above the grill and melting the awning of the back porch LOL.

You have to basically stand there the whole time and cook on lower heat so it doesn't do it.

I bought one of those little hand cranked freezers at a thrift store, last year, for $4.00. They cost $30.00, or more, new. I have a full sized electric one too but, by the time you drag everything out and mess with the salt, ice, and all that... you're out of the ice cream mood! The little one is just right for 3 or 4 people and works really fast with no mess.

I might have to see about getting one of the little hand crankers. I would love to experiment with different flavors.

We used to have an ice cream shop a while back called white mountain creamery or something like that and oh my god I have yet to have ice cream that good. It was so thick and a lot of texture. I would love to be able to make home made ice cream like that sometime.

My wife likes turkey burgers but I don't like the look of the grease on them but they don't taste bad. I just can't be the one that cooks them LOL.

After all the complaining about snow here in PA we have been blessed with some great weather the last few days. Knowing it was going to be nice again today my wife got some steaks out of the freezer yesterday and we cooked them on the grill tonight. They were the first of the season and they were good ! :smile1::smile1:

I gave up gas grills & went back to charcoal. I've been hankering for a good old deluxe grilled hamburger, so had the wife pick up some hamburger, lettuce, & tomatoes. After wrapping up today's chores I grabbed the charcoal & got the grill fired up. Had myself 2 big BBQ'd burgers, topped with lettuce, chopped sweet pickles, tomato, & salad dressing. To go with it, my wife fried up some home made french fries. We have one of them potato thingies to turn a potato to fries with one push. You talk about putting any problems to the side for a while. Those burgers were flat-out DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:
