Hey guys, I'm rigging up a push button switch on my 1254, one that is basically a solenoid in itself. I need to know where to hook the regulator wire to charge the battery. Just hook it directly to the battery?

I would rig a switch and fuse in the circuit. Switch to keep it from draining the battery when off, and fuse to keep the magic smoke inside the regulator.

That sounds like a good idea, I might try that. I am spending a tad much on this thing though. I looked at the old setup, and they just have 1 wire going from the reg. to the hot solenoid post and the other wire goes to the ammeter, then keyswitch, then lightswitch but not in that particular order. Do you think I would be safe just hooking the one wire to my hot post on the switch?

Ok so now I have another question, where to mount the dang switch?!? This is the switch I got:

Not exactly small. I don't care if it just hangs in there, but I don't want it to jump itself or get the wires chewed on by the engine pulley. Then again I don't want to drill a big hole in my firewall just for a temporary switch.
