We just found out less than a week ago that my Dads surgery for a Heart valve replacement has been scheduled for Tuesday. I am driving him to Boston on Monday and will be staying with him.

So... I decided to restore the Custom 10XL as a surprise, I have been working on it the last few days non stop, today alone I spent 17 hours on it.

I was just going to get this one mechanically sound, but I just decided to do this so he has something to look forward to when he gets out of the Hospital. I am kind of worried because he also has two arteries completely blocked and they decided against taking care of them at this time, he had a 5 way bypass already about 10 or so years ago. So I am a little worried. Anyway I don't want to go on about that right now.

So here is the progress thus far, my goal is to be done by Saturday night.

I couldn't get the steering wheel off and didn't have time to mess around with it ( tight schedule) It made it a little more involved not having the dash off.

I decided to do the rims two tone, I really like the look! I also did the paint a little different I decided to go off white in stead of the typical gloss, I also went with a brighter yellow as it is one of my Dads favorite colors. And if you noticed I stole the tires from my MF12 and put them on this, the others just looked so small.

I didn't get any pictures before I came in a little while ago, but The grill is done and I painted the dash. I am hoping all the paint will be dry enough by Saturday so I can assemble it. Then I'll trailer it to Dads on Sunday morning.

Ok I must go get cleaned up, have a lot to do tomorrow ( later today). Thanks for looking and I'll update later.

Chris, the tractor looks great. My FIL had a quad bypass when he was in his 40's and then 6 done when he was in his early 60's. He's 84 now and has other health issue but his heart isn't an issue. So it's not uncommon to have 2 rounds of bypass surgery and a long life afterwards. They have also made improvements in surgical techniques and treatment since my FIL had his last issues 20 years ago.

Lookin' good, Chris ! I'm sure your dad will enjoy it after his recovery. My wife and I will keep him in our prayers and thoughts. As others have stated, everything should be alright. Today's medical advancements are so good that they would've been considered impossible years ago. He's going to love that rig !

Wow that is looking sharp and you are making short work of it.

My dad had bypasses twice and also a double anuerism repaired and lived till he was 82. I know there is fear there, but he should be fine.
