I saw the pictures in your Gallery.
There are a few things that I need to know.
1) Does it run? If so do all gears shift smoothly, and does the engine smoke at all.
2) Condition of the deck. Are the bearings loud? Is the deck solid(No rust holes)

 

I'd say in the unknown condition that it's in a Good starting price would probably be around $150

 

Sorry to hear about your loss..... Like Bolens 1000 stated, Without knowing the condition of the motor and trans. I'd put it out there for $200 and hope for $150. If it runs well, the tires air up and are in good shape, you have the fender pan laying around in the shop somewhere, and the deck is good I would start at $400 b/o. In running mowing condition theres no reason why someone wouldn't give you $350 to $400. I would! but to far for me to drive!!

Thanks everyone. Bolens 1000 now about it running, I can't find out that stuff unfortunately. But we do know the deck is newer, bought in the late 90's, and as far as we could tell has no rust at ALL!

From the info and the pictures you have given I'd say shoot for $150-$200

 

well thanks for the input. Actually I just talked to my dad, and tom morning we are gonna try to see if we can figure out any info on the engine, and if we do I'll let you know. Thanks for the help

 

ok, keep us updated if you find anything else out....

 

just be careful, in 1 of your pics it looks like the mower deck shaft isn't connected and the universal joint is just hanging off the pto. The pic might be the one from the gallery you posted last night. If you were to engage the mower you would have a big racket and possibly damage something. You can still run the tractor just dont turn the mower on til its connected properly. Any ??? about the mower let us know.

I think with engine free, and that newer deck, that it should be worth $350. The excellent deck adds a lot to the worth in my opinion. After all, mowing is it's main purpose, so a new deck is a huge plus.

Its considered parts because the buyer may purchase it and find that the trans is shot, or the motor knocks. So not to many are willing to take that chance. In its current condition its worth @ $200.
