Good Ole JB!
And cleanliness goes right with it. Any time you bond two items together they both have to be clean before the bonding agent is applied if you want it to stay. More than a shop rag wipe too.

One of the big magnets in the yard sprayer motor came loose. A year ago I glued it in with JB weld and it's still working fine. You want to use the slower curing JB.
I agree the slow set gives a better bond.

Walmart brake parts cleaner. 1.94 a can! can't go wrong for the price of "Good Clean Adherence!"
I would agree that using a spray brake parts cleaner as the final cleaning step is probably the cleanest you can get it. It evaporates fast but give time for all traces of solvents to evaporate from corners and crevices. Usually I would have done an initial cleaning with other stuff too, maybe turpentine (Car Quest auto parts paint section. I'm talking about real turpentine, not the Home Depot or Lowes 'ordorless type'.) If there are sensitive materials nearby I tend towards alcohol or soap and water. But for the final clean if no sensitive materials are nearby then spray brake cleaner is a good step. If any of your surfaces are very smooth, then rough them up as much as possible before final cleaning. Those scratches you make are really where the epoxy/adhesive is grabbing onto.

Thanks Max I have purchased the JB and the CRC brand brake cleaner. I hope to get it this week. We have had so much rain the grass is growing like mad and I have been spending much time keeping the grass cut. I have installed a non variable speed blower motor for now until i get the variable speed motor fixed. thanks for your good information.

cleaned parts and applied j b weld. I will let it cure for 24 hours before putting the motor back together. Hope it works new motor $300
I like the zip ties as spacers. I think the JB will probably hold against the centripetal force. (I almost said centrifugal but the inner physics nerd corrected me.) It is a great thing to be able to repair/restore electric motors/starters/alternators/generators. Nice work!
