Can anyone here tell me anything about this engine? I'm looking for 'care and feeding" info, and any hints as to any weak points it may have.

What I know:
It's a 3-cyl, water cooled, 59.7 Cu. In., and is rated at 22 Hp. @3200 RPM.

That is the engine that Bolens put into the "export only" HDT1000. I just brought one home and am looking for as much info on the engine as I can get.

I'm especially interested in what oil and fuel filter it would use. The Bolens Large Frame Service Manual does have a little info on it, which is where I got the above specs, but the filters are all Bolens numbers.

I have a K3D in my Toro Groundsmaster, and its a great engine. It has alot of power, and runs the 72" deck with no problem. I buy my oil filter through Toro for it, but I can't remember the part no., at the moment. Sounds like a really great project.

Here are a couple pics during the refurbish.

That is a nice looking Toro. The creeper would have looked good that color also.

I run Shell Rotella 15-40 in all my diesels. I can't comment on your Mitsubishi but I have yet to find a diesel that this oil isn't compatible with. Looking forward to your photos.
