I've looked there and they only list 14" and larger.

I havent measured yet to see if I can go up that much in size yet as I was still hoping to replace the single broken disc, vs swapping all 16 out for now.

 

Although looking closer I do see a couple 12" listed. I'll have to just give them a call instead of trying to search their website.

 

I looked at the Brinly and Agri Fab sites and their discs both seem to be 11" ones.

Brinly uses the smooth discs, and Agri-Fab notched.

Agrifab has the notched 12" for about $7.50 each. Those should fit without a problem, but I need to measure to be sure. I would like to swap out the frotn gang to all notched to cut better, but that may have to wait.

Great little site you guys have here. I dont have a garden tractor, just use some of the older implements behind my ATV. I wish I could justify one though, but Im afraid it would be one mroe hobby I dont have time for.

 

Well the one from Brinleys wont fit - The ID is too small. Going to check with Agri-fab now.

Any issue running a single 12" with the rest being 11" ? I mean as long as it fits? I wouldnt think the extra 1/2" would cause any problems but...... just checking

I thought about that, I dont think runout would be a concern since its not turning any type of rpm. Its an option, still looking for an off the shelf though.

Would there be any concern / downside to running a new set of 12" notched in the first gang with the original 11" smooth in the second? If anything, should make the front gang cut al little better i would think.

 

Chris, does your setup have an adjustable toplink? If so, you should be able to compensate for the size difference. Unfortunately, the OEM discs from Sears are NLA, the part number for most of them was 6844M, for what it's worth.

Btw, the notched ones only make a difference in rocky or sod clump ground, at least that's been my experience.

Thanks for the information. To update this somewhat - I was unable to find a direct replacement so I ran it a disc short this time. Will try this next year to figure something out before I use it again next fall.

The top link it is home made and is set right now. I can disasseble and drill some mroe hoels to adjust it though if need be.

I am still leaning towards swapping in some larger notched discs, this is used for Deer plots at our hunting camp so rocks, sticks, etc are common no matter how well i clean the area first.
