I have a 1982 Ford F-150 4x4 with stock aluminum wheels and 35-12.50-15 tires on it.We use it as a farm truck so it sits a lot..anyway..I have this one tire that leaks down to 15lbs of air..and maintains that pressure.I can fill it to 35-40psi and 2 hrs later is at 15psi..and it will maintain 15psi for weeks..just seems odd to me that thats the magic psi.. :hitting_self_roller:

Well, you shoukl patent it , it is strange though...probably doesn't have enough to fully deflate from where ever its leaking from !
Aluminum will corrode after a time, especially up here in the north where they use salt and brine on the roads. Pull that tire and check the rim for white chalky or powdery spots.
naa rimes look like new,and I checked the bead and valve stem..even the tire store couldn't find the problem...seems to hold air just fine as long as you drive it..just dont park it,,,LOL
Simple solution. Find an old treadmill and park with the tire on it. Run treadmill when truck isn't moving.
I had a similar issue on the rear wheel on the bike. I could ride it for hours and not have an issue but let it sit overnight and the rear tire would be just about flat. Pulled the valve core and at first didn't see a thing wrong but when I manually opened the valve I found some white looking stuff. Replaced the valve core and haven't had an issue since.
Similar to Willie's suggestion, jack that corner an inch up off the ground when parked! :thumbs:
Replace the valve stem and clean around that then grease that and the bead seat with a cheap axle grease and you should be good to go. I have used grease on all my tires for years and they never leak plus the grease is easier to get of than that black tire sealer crap !!

I've seen the valve stem cause problems like this and I've seen this with sheetrock screws too. I had to fully inflate the tires and submerge them to find the problems. Check the tread real carefully. Good Luck, Rick
Had the same issue on the rear tire of my old 97 Chevy lumina. Would air up to 30 psi and then a week later, 15 psi. I prefered how the car handled in the turns with 15 psi in that tire better than 30, so left it at 15 psi lol.
Yes, I get a large bin and put it under the downspout near the garage door. I empty it in the fall but it fills up fast when I right it in the spring. Many times it is the only reliable way. Good Luck, Rick
I generally use soapy water I spray around the tire and usually find the problem. But if that does not produce results then in the tube it goes.
It was a 30+ gallon bin but it bit the dust over the winter. It would put about 1/3 of the tire under water at a time. I'm thinking of buying one of the rubber horse troughes at AGWAY to replace it. We will see what comes up. Good Luck, Rick
I had a truck tire once that had a nail in it. If I parked the truck with the nail down it would slow leak. If the nail was up, it wouldn't. It liked to drive me crazy!
Soapy water works for me. Should show you the problem, no matter where it is.
If it were mine, and this was a farm trucking would take the tire off the rim, check for any sharp spots inside by hand, put in a tube and be done with it.
