Steering Issue

I have an SST16 John Deere and have to pull up on steering wheel or it knocks/doesn't grab etc.. It got very bad after changing a belt. I'm unable to find blow up of the assembly and having a difficult time getting access to the pinion and sector gear to inspect or change it. Any advise would be appreciated. Don't know if this is a common problem with these SSTs or not.

That is a big help, thank you. Any ideas how to access #'s 5&6 to replace them?

Never been around one of these.

#'s 4 & 8 are bushings. That may be the problem.
