Looking at the pics, this cannot be a 1984. That body style ended in 1983! And I wouldn't give that kind of money for a non-running tractor!

But a thrown rod,wires hanging out, tarp straps and $450 firm puts a big hurt on it...! ????

 

I think he put the decimal in the wrong place

45 bucks sounds about right for it since its a restoraion project

Lots of people with little knowledge, thinking what they have is a gold mine, have to love what shows like the pickers, antque road show, storage wars etc. giving false prices on things, they may sell them at that price but how long does it take before the sucker comes along

In my opion he will have this tractor till the day he dies or it rots before he gets 450 firm

I remember this member tried selling this same tractor a year or two ago. It would probably be better to part it out, because there's absolutely no way that it would sell for anywhere even close to $450.

 

Paid $100 for a running Gt18 a few years ago, vari-drive was shot. Saved the engine, junked the rest. That 6 speed would be a nice trans-axle to have though.

I am going strictly by the model number. When I entered it in the search function, that is the year listed. How do I confirm the correct year?

That style was only available between 1981-1983, 1984's were boxy looking.

I don't believe anyone here was trying to offend you. Just everyone's opinion including myself. Some models are definitely more desirable than others. Not so sure about yours with the shape that it is in.

A lot of guys here live,eat and drink garden tractors and know what they're talking. They've seen many people come and go asking prices that would make your eye's water. I guess you can ask anything you want but you might want to be prepared for smack if the amount seems ridiculous. Though that can happen no matter what price you are asking sometimes.

Just my humble opinion....????
